What Does It Mean To Be Green?

At Schafer Richardson, our commitment to being green goes beyond green roofs, high efficiency equipment and solar energy.  By focusing on two core planning and design principles, density and adaptive reuse, we believe we are contributing to a healthier and greener way of life.

Density, when well-planned and well-designed, is one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to reduce our impact on the planet.  By building great buildings in the heart of the city, SR can help our clients and customers reduce the required use of automobiles and utilize city sidewalks, exisiting urban infra-structure, and public transportation options.

Adaptive Reuse

Adaptive reuse has been our specialty from the beginning.  By renovating and recycling a large number of functionally obsolete buildings for new and exciting uses, Schafer Richardson plays a significant role in saving the energy it would take to remove and replace them while keeping millions of tons of debris from our landfills.
